Why not?
Because it tends to take away from the live experience you just had.
But...o..m...g....last night....The Foreign Exchange is probably the only exception to this unofficial rule! We were surely jamming in the living room AS SOON AS we got home!
Phonte, Nicolay, Yahzarah, Darien Brockington and their band rocked the house!! So cliche...I know but their performance was OUTSTANDING!!!!
The girls and I all left deeply in love with EVERYONE !!But not just for their looks! But how their music just invaded our souls!! No questions asked!
Phonte served as the emcee between songs, creating a great relationship with the audience. Giving background information on each song, while Darien and Yahzarah danced behind him on the stage.
He even paused for a moment to hop off stage and grab one of our chicken wings that we had just sitting there! (yep we sat in the front to absorb every note!!!)
The band jammed all night, mostly playing songs from their cd Leave it All Behind another must buy if you don't have it! Can't have you being all out of the loop now!
The chemistry between them on stage was completely REAL. You know how sometimes you may go to a show and the performers [if in a group] just stay on their designated "X" and completely away from their group mates? Yeah this was not the case as both Phonte and Darien both took their turns to dance with the lovely Ms. Yahzarah.
My favorite song of the night was "I Wanna Know" - a song about avoiding a fight with your man (or your girl) with just one simple word - "okay" The way Phonte sang "oookkkaaaayyy" rang through our ears all night as that became our slogan to avoid all drama! ooookaaaaayyyy
My other favorites on the night were "Sweeter than You", "Come Around" and "DayKeeper"
At the end of the night, The Foreign Exchange mixed and mingled with the crowd, selling cds, giving out autographs and taking pictures! And we took part of it all!
On a scale of 1 to 10 the night was a 20 mega million!

daggonit...
I really wanted to see them live but couldn't make the show.
Their music is amazing...
Nicolay's production work is always beyond soulful. Check out their first disc if you haven't already
I was just turned onto The Foreign Exchange about 2 weeks ago and I've been playing their album on repeat since. I didn't know that Phonte from Little Brother was in the group though. I'm mad I missed this concert!
