::HEADPHONE JUNKIE:: Pharoahe Monch -CLAP The Short Film

Pharoahe Monch premieres his first visual from W.A.R. (We Are Rengades) out March 22nd. "Clap (one day)" is a powerful 10-minute short film with which Pharoahe Monch evokes raw emotions as he brings viewers on a journey of a police raid gone dramatically wrong.

"Clap (one day)" premiered on COMPLEX.com and is directed by Terence Nance. Original score by Lion's Share Music Group. The cast includes Gbenga Akinnagbe (The Wire), Kim Howard & Josiah Small.

Fans who buy Pharoahe Monch's W.A.R. album from iTunes will receive the short-film with purchase.

AARON CAMPER:

Hailing from Salisbury, MD this Grammy Nominated singer/songwriter has always had a hunger and a drive to learn music in its purest and simplest form without compromising the art. He started his professional singing career in 2004 right out of high school with world re-nown gospel artist Tye Tribbett where he came to be a driving force and staple in the award winning group's presentation and sound.

From there Aaron's writing and vocal abilities led him to working and writing with the some of the industry’s best such as Rob Thomas, Jessica Simpson, Jill Scott, Stevie Wonder, Patti Labelle, The Clark Sisters, Bo Bice, Eric Roberson and Fantasia. Garnering his first RIAA certified gold album in 2008 with Marvin Sapp's Grammy Nominated album "Thirsty".

On January 1st, 2011 he released his first mixtape entitled “Welcome to My World". The mixtape includes such notables like Kanye West, Swizz Beats, Eric Roberson & PJ Morton. This dynamo of a talent and well known explosive performer is about to launch into the next phase of his seemingly limitless career and beyond.

::SOULCIAL SERVICE:: The Community Mural

It was 103 degrees on July 24th but even heat cant stop people with a goal!


The Alternative Learning Center, a middle school & Gwynn Oak United Methodist Church in Baltimore hosted a community event to paint a mural and build a community garden in a vacant lot behind the church.

The good folks at Civic Grind brought the event to our attention and several ladies from Gypsy Soul answered the call for volunteers to help with this incredible project. Onsite volunteers consisted of Civic Grind, Gypsy Soul, Heal A Woman to Heal A Nation. LovElution, Ameri Corps, and others from the neighborhood.

We all got down and dirty with paint & plants! New friendships were formed and coalitions created...

Several icees, ice cold water, and great company kept the heat off of our minds as we created something beautiful.
