No stranger to Baltimore, Leela James now has the distinction as the final headline of Jazzy Summer Nights, a Baltimore entertainment event that that has run for 10 years, took its final bow on September 3rd.
Ms. James made her mark as she created more than a concert, she created a celebration! Urging fans that were blocked by gates to fill in the empty space in front of the stage, an area clear for the "VIPs" to enjoy the performance with a clear view, she paused the show to ensure the people that were there to party were able to get up close & personal with the performance.
Leela James and her band were full of energy. She moved with the music, emotion was in her voice and body. She shared her talent with the audience and shared the stage with her fans...literally. She invited folks up to dance and dance they did! Men, women, young, and young at heart two stepped, dropped it like it was hot, and shook their booty to the beat.
By the end of the show we were in CHUUCH! There was sanctuary music and shoutin, a definite celebration ended the 10 year legend.

After the show Gypsy Soul was granted the opportunity to coordinate interviews with the leading lady. Instead of individual interviews, I opted to do a round table due to the late hour and number of media outlets participating. We talked about her albums, her sound, and more. The Baltimore Examiner, Unrelated Family, The Baltimore Times, and 1bluvision.com participated, take a look at available articles:
I enjoyed Leela James, she has a sweet, southern drawl and a radiating positivity about her. Looking forward to her bringing her energy back to Charm City.
