::HEADPHONE JUNKIE:: KING'S SUPERNATURAL PERFORMANCE AT EUCLID RECORDS
by Daniel Harris
The past few years have been very good to KING. Following the release of their EP The Story in 2011, KING received critical acclaim from fans and noted musicians alike. They've had the opportunity to tour with Laura Mvula, headline their own tour, produce and write with Bilal, Eric Roberson, Robert Glasper and The Foreign Exchange. And let's not forget to mention the amazing support received from his royal badness, Prince! The past few years have been very good indeed.
This past July, while in New Orleans to perform at the Essence Music Festival (which was headlined by Prince), KING found time to escape the busy festivities to Euclid Records. There, the soulful trio reflected on how the opportunity to meet Prince came about and what it is like to work with such an iconic figure in music. The quaint shop's sea of vinyl, that would make any music lover swoon, seemed to perfectly encapsulate their beautiful version of Supernatural.
It should go without saying, KING's debut album is one of the most highly anticipated albums among headphone junkies. While we wait though, this will most definitely suffice.
