They are a group of "forward thinking music junkies" that have come together to do the seemingly impossible: disrupt the monolithic rap system or as they call it, "Robotic Rap." It is a huge task, no doubt, but Savvi, Scottie Spitten and EQuality are three well equipped MCs with abilities to restore faith in a once treasured art form.
Collectively known as the Hueston Independent Spit District (H.I.S.D. for short) these three MCs, along with producer King Midas, showcase a deep respect for Hip Hop's Golden Age. A time from the mid 80s to the mid 90s that was marked by raw talent and skill, thought provoking subject matter, individual style and creative and eclectic music. Formed in 2005, H.I.S.D.'s mutual respect for Hip Hop's significance became a great starting point to build upon their creative natures.
The Houston based group seeks to challenge every aspect of creativity. From poetry, to photography, H.I.S.D. use numerous forms of art to spread their message to the masses. Coming together under the Peace Uv Mine umbrella, they seek to reshape people's expectation of music and culture.
