Shani: I'm here at the Black Cat in Washington D.C. with N’Dambi on her tour to promote her cd, Pink Elephant. Awesome show tonight!
N’Dambi: Thank you! I had a good time, I really did!
Shani: Tonight you performed some of our favorites from off of the cd. I understand you have a recent Grammy nomination.
N’Dambi: Well, the album Pink Elephant was nominated for a Grammy for best engineered album. That is an exciting award category nomination. So, I am excited and supporting the engineers and producers for that particular award.
Shani: So, you just released a new video for, “Nobody Jones”. N’Dambi, who is Nobody Jones?N’Dambi: Nobody Jones is any superstar that exists. We are all a "Nobody Jones” and I say that only meaning that there are people in this world who are very important with very important things to do or say. The world does not always acknowledge them and give them the greetings that they should. But, they realize their importance and worth despite their environment they grow up in or anything that tells them that they are not important. So, those are Nobody Jones.
Shani: Alright. I just want to express I love your stage presence. It is so powerful. You really remind me of one of the music legends, Tina Turner. You have a rich, deep voice and commanding presence on the stage.

N’Dambi: Thank you, so much! I am honored to be compared to the likes of Tina Turner. She is an amazing artist in her own right. Every time I perform, my goal is to connect and to give people something that they can receive and give me their energy back. All that I am doing is being a mirror, responding from the energy that I am seeing from people.
Shani: I think you give us the energy.
N’Dambi: Well, whatever it is, I think it’s reciprocity so I’m excited we get to share it.
Shani: As far as the cd, one of the crowd’s favorites and a song pretty much everyone can relate to, in some point in their love life is “Can’t Hardly Wait”. I think it may become an anthem.
N’Dambi: “Can’t Hardly Wait” was one of those ditties that was inspired listening to rap group U.G.K. It was no rhyme or reason to it; it was one of those songs that fell out of the sky inspired by what I heard.
Shani: So, how can fans reach out to you? Are you on Facebook or Twitter?
N’Dambi: I am Facebook and Twitter. I have www.Ndambionline.com. So, you can reach me there or on Facebook or Twitter under my name, N’Dambi.
