New on the scene to some while others have known him for a while, Emmanuel Withers-Lewis or better known as "Manny" will be performing @ Eden's Lounge in Baltimore, Maryland Thursday, January 13th as part of 2 AM Music's Eden's Unplugged.
Born in NY and raise here in Baltimore, Manny has an old soul and brings that old school flavor to the new era. His influences are derived from artists such as the late Marvin Gaye, Eddie Kendricks of the Temptations, Nat King Col, Minnie Ripperton, and Sam Cooke just to name a few. His "pretty boy" demeanor reminds me of Smokey Robinson back in the day (at least from the old footage I've seen). And yes, he even has the eyes like Smokey.
While he's still discovering his sound, his voice is soothing and puts your soul at ease. Reminds me of when I listen to some of the greats from Motown.
On Thursday @ Eden's Lounge in Baltimore, Manny's performance will include a few of his singles such as "Always Yours"and "Mad at You" and a few old school favs.
If your into hearing a little old and new---come out to Eden's and groove with Gypsy Soul and Manny and he brings the flava to the stage.
I can't wait to see what this new talent has to offer and what he can bring to the music game.
