Leah Smith
Hailing from the streets of North Philadelphia and a product of Philadelphia’s prestigious Creative and Performing Arts High School, music has always been a part of Leah’s life. Smith gave her first vocal solo at the age of 4 and at the age of 9, began singing with the Temple University Program for Gifted Young Musicians. She began recording with the Baltimore based group Sandtown before she was even in a double digit age category and began writing songs at age 11. In 2008, Smith became the winner of the Best of Philly Rising/World CafĂ© Live Showcase and released her debut EP entitled Beautifully Made in October 2009 to rave reviews. Smith’s current single, Monster debuted at number 1 on digstation.com within its first week of sales. Singer/Songwriter/Musician Leah Smith has shared the stage with Grammy Award winning artists such as Aretha Franklin, Alicia Keys, and Israel Houghton. A former member of Israel Houghton and New Breed, Smith has already toured the United States, Asia, Europe, and Australia. Smith’s music offers a breath of fresh air to the music that mainstream culture has grown accustomed to. Leah Smith wants to share with her listeners that “real, living hope is accessible to all.” Her sound crosses genre barriers blending soul, gospel, pop, and folk musical styles to create a sound all her own. Smith’s debut EP entitled Beautifully Made is in stores now.
Lydia Caesar
Not your typical R&B bombshell, Lydia’s soulful yet edgy vocal ability and sultry voice are a force not to be reckoned with. A lover of many different genres of music, Lydia was introduced to rock music early on in her life. With this influence, Lydia and her producer MotesArt have created a fusion of Rock and R&B which they call "Rock&B". Lydia’s star power has garnered the crown of several New York City showcases, including Faces in the Crowd 2006 best of the best winner, the recognition of Vibe.com for her answer to Musiq Soulchild’s “Buddy,” and a 2007 Underground Music Award for best R&B female.Lydia has completed her first full-length work. Her debut album is filled with songs that sound different, and just make you feel good. Soulful vocals, over rock guitar riffs, this LP breaks the mold.
Green Tea:
Mix a serving of soul, a pinch of optimism, and a dash of heart and you get Green Tea. Not just your average soul singer, Green Tea, pours her feelings into her music. She skilfully mixes sultry soul with positive lyrics and encouraging tones that make you want another dose every time she sings. As a D.C. native, Green Tea stays true to the eclectic style that moves through the city and blends her inspirations of gospel, soul, jazz, rhythm and blues, opera, and even rock and roll into her craft. She has opened up for artists such as Slick Rick, Kindred the Family Soul, Dead Prez, Chuck Brown, Fertile Ground and Anthony David and has entertained all over the East Coast, from D.C., Maryland, and Virginia, to Pennsylvania.
Kenny Wesley
He sings with the tenderness of a soul crooner, and in the same breath, with incredible agility and freedom. Kenny Wesley is the young new face of contemporary and jazz music. In May of 2008, his vision materialized with the release of his debut single, “I'm Sorry" which relates an earnest plea of forgiveness to the listener. “People have so many ulterior motives for forging relationships and friendships. I wanted a song that would convey this concept in a sincere, gentle kind of way.” His love for music and other cultures has taken him around the world where he has performed before presidents, dignitaries, heads of state, and high-profile celebrities. Kenny has opened for Anthony David and has shared the stage with several national recording artists such as Yolanda Adams, Gordon Chambers Mike Phillips, Jimmy Sommers, Vikter Duplaix, Anthony David and Jean Carne. His songs have been featured by a host of worldwide media outlets to include: ABC’s “The View”, WHUR FM, Music Choice, Clear Channel’s Discovery! New, African Rhythms (UBC Radio), 4DaSoul, SoulUnsigned, FunkyPeopleRadio, IAC, Fusions Radio, RadioIO, Candy Randy Radio, StarpointRadio.net, Street Access Radio, BounceRadio.net, Classic Soul 1075.com, WINR Radio, WBRS Radio, WDJR.net, Cross Tracks, kemetradio.com, Mallee Border Radio, WCH Radio, Good Morning Arizona!, the Holiday Magic CD Compilation, last.fm, Itunes, and the All Digital Radio Network.
