Known to most as the "Puffy Haired Tower of Power", Kimberly Nichole is definitely a world wind of power when it comes to her profound vocals. Recently, Gypsy Soul had the opportunity to interview her to discuss a few details about her latest album YBJ Reloaded and find out what's next for the new Indie artist, check it out:

After graduating from Spellman in Atlanta, GA, what made you realize that you wanted to be an artist full-time verses starting a 9 to 5 in the corporate world?

"I knew as a young child, I always wanted to be an artist. I co uldn't see myself having a corporate job and doing something that I didn't love. This is what I was born to do."

During Kimberly's performance at the Reginald F. Lewis Museum for their 5th Anniversary, she briefly discussed the meaning behind one of her "favorite" cuts on the album "Disconnected". "Disconnected was inspired by a love I had for a guy in college." I was so wrapped up into him emotionally that I was disconnected from my friends, I would pass on hanging out with them verse spending time with my man. When my man stopped coming around and my phone stopped ringing, I was completely disconnected from eve ryone and my friends started throwing me shade. Point is, always save for a rainy day, let no man or relationship be the center of your life." Girlfriend is so right on this song, her lyrics and the feeling behind the song are emotionally breathtaking.
